This map, with a vignette of an embassy from Ethiopia to the king of Janjero, continues (despite the claim that it is based on the most exact and modern information) to show the two branches of the Nile as rising from Lakes Zaire and Zaflan, and also confuses the river Omo with the Zambezi. It shows how, despite the breakthrough pioneered by Ludolf, bizarrely mistaken conceptions of Ethiopian geography continued to be current.
